Matt Jalbert is the guitarist in the instrumental rock fusion band TAUK. He grew up in Glen Cove, NY and began playing guitar and composing at an early age. After meeting fellow founding members of TAUK Alric Carter and Charlie Dolan in high school, Matt attended the University of Vermont where he studied Jazz Performance as well as performing with a variety of local musicians and bands.
TAUK reformed after college, bringing in drummer Isaac Teel, and has been a busy national touring act over the past few years appearing at major music festivals such as Bonnaroo, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Fest, and The Allman Brothers’ Peach Fest. TAUK’s broadly appealing musicality has allowed the band to share the stage with such diverse artists as The Funky Meters, Umphrey’s McGee, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Lettuce, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Widespread Panic, and many more.
The group recorded “Pull Factors,” a five song EP, before joining with Grammy winning producer Robert Carranza to record their latest two full-length albums leading to frequent rotation for the singles “Mindshift”, “Sweet Revenge”, “Dead Signal” and “In the Basement of the Alamo” on Sirius XM Jam On.
“The Royal Reverb sounds truly amazing, and the ability to switch between the power schemes and really fine-tune the tone makes it extremely versatile. It can have a vicious bite or stay clean and warm at high volumes, plus its reverb and tremolo are incredible.”
